With a long history of leadership positions, Mr. Koch has demonstrated his
ability to persuade and convince others with clear and concise reports,
honest opinions and thorough analysis and understanding of issues under
contention.Mr. Koch’s expertise in all phases of the construction
industry reflects his diverse experience in both private industry and
government service as contractor, building code administrator, building
inspector, structural plans examiner, and most recently, as creator and
director of a construction defect mitigation program for condominium
developers.
Mr. Koch’s in-depth grasp of construction related topics include
construction law, contracting, plans and documents, and building codes. He
finds solutions because he knows how things work. His long-standing
relationships and network of construction regulatory personnel and peer
professionals such as architects, engineers, planning, zoning and fire
officials, enable him to proceed through the paths of municipal
ordinances, state laws, and busy government officials to achieve client
objectives.
Mr. Koch maintains Florida state and local contractor
and inspector licenses and certifications. He is a member and past
president of the Building and Inspectors Association of Broward County and
a director of the Associates Division of the Broward County Bar Association.
Mr. Koch’s reputation and credibility are well
established. He has mediated win-win outcomes for a diverse client base
including owners, builders, contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors.
Recognized as an expert by such organizations as the construction law
committee of his county bar association and the Building Officials and
Inspectors Association, his presentations on pertinent topics are well
received. He has lectured to college architectural students on the impact
of the permitting and inspection process on architects.
